Allegro Appassionato has been around for over 30 years. It is run by volunteers and funded by audience donations.
The performance room, upstairs at Louth Library, accommodates up to 100 at tables and in surrounding seating. Audiences are regularly over 70. People arrive from about 11.45 am to meet friends and talk over tea, coffee or a soft drink and biscuit before the concert begins at 12.45 pm. The performance lasts for 45 minutes and finishes at 1.30 pm. It is a pleasure to work with the helpful Library staff who make us feel welcome. There is a map on our FIND US page.
We are the only organisation we know which provides 36 lunchtime concerts a year with a wide range of accomplished performers, including young artists giving their first recitals. Many of our performers are regulars, but we are always on the look-out for new talent. You are welcome to make suggestions via our CONTACT page.
Wednesday is one of Louth’s market days, so Allegro Appassionato is only one of the attractions to bring people into the town at mid-week.
